About Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi was founded on November 7, 1907, at New York University at the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance in New York, New York by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, and Henry Albert Tienken. They focused on a set of founding ideals: the purpose, professional development, diversity and ethics, service and philanthropy, leadership, and social.

Our Purpose

“Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.”

Our Core Values

Professional Development

Professionalism can be used to better prepare ourselves for the fast-paced, challenging, and evolving business world. We develop and practice with professional events, hosting guest speakers from companies in various industries and holding workshops including Mock Interviews and LinkedIn workshops.

Diversity & Ethics

Our brothers and the fraternity as a whole are committed to diversity as the nation's first co-ed professional business fraternity. Our training and activities aim to encourage respect by creating thoughtful, clear ethical norms that are inclusive. We organize events to promote diversity and inclusion.

Service & Philanthropy

Our chapter is dedicated to serving the community. We hope to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families through supporting cultural and civic groups. We are also active in community service both on and off campus.

Leadership

Brothers are prepared to be leaders and continue to strengthen their leadership abilities throughout their careers, thanks to multiple chances to develop leadership skills through training, conferences, and holding local or national positions. Our executive committee is made up of 11 positions, all of which play equally important roles in the fraternity's growth.

Social Bonding

Delta Sigma Pi provides brothers with chances to broaden their network during their undergraduate careers while retaining close relationships with alumni. We cherish and respect one another and encourage one another to grow and achieve.
